Mark Murphy
Having been in the German Fest system for 10 years, Canadian tenor E. Mark Murphy's repertoire is vast. He is a versatile singer and actor, equally at home in opera, operetta, musical and concert repertoire. Recent roles include Pedrillo in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Monostatos in Die Zauberflöte and the four servants in Offenbach's Les Contes d'Hoffmann at the Aalto Theater in Essen, Flute/Thisby in Britten's Midsummer Night's Dream at the Oldenburgische Staatstheater, and Flute/Thisby, Albert Herring (title role), Boni in Kalman's Die Csardasfürstin, as well as the Tinman in The Wizard of Oz, Mottel in Fiddler on the Roof and the Emcee in Kander and Ebb's Cabaret at the Musiktheater im Revier in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. E. Mark Murphy holds music degrees from Boston University (M.M.) and Memorial University of Newfoundland (B.Mus.) as well as a Master of Arts Management (M.A. Kultur- und Medienmanagement) from the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg, Germany.
